Chapter One
Yeshua, My Friend

I enjoy sitting on my deck watching and listening to nature. The birds chirping, the geese honking, the herons and egrets fishing, the doves cooing, the squirrels chattering, the fish jumping in the pond and the turtle sunning on the partially submerged log. The leaves of the quaking aspens rattling in the breeze sound like wind chimes. The sounds of nature make me think of Jesus, my Friend.

In Hebrew His name is the beautiful word, Yeshua. My heart wants to sing and praise Him all day long. Oh, how complete He makes me feel in my soul, spirit, and mind. He is so powerful and yet so gentle (Job 26:14). The pages in the Bible tell me He is my Saviour and my Friend (Isaiah 41:8, John 15:9-16, 2 Timothy 2:19, James 2:23, 1 John 4:14, Jude :25). I know He will never abandoned me or stop loving me. He is always there eagerly waiting for me to come and talk to Him so we can discuss matters important to both of us.

There are no wants in my life because He takes care of my every need before I ask (Isaiah 65:24). I could go on and on about the mortal mind regarding what it thinks it needs or wants but there is no reason for such nonsense. He is the most compassionate Friend I can have at any time or circumstance in my life. He listens and comforts me when I talk to Him. He wants to show me His favor.

The scriptures regarding His power race through my mind. The song God Speaks starts playing in my memory. God is in the stillness of the night, the flaming sunsets setting the clouds ablaze, the scent of Autumn rains, the mighty rivers rushing to the sea, the whiteness of the snow, in all the hearts that love. We need to understand that His love is everywhere.

He died a cruel death on that day so long ago because He loved perfection. His love was so deep He was willing to go through the horror of that day so evil would be eradicated forever. His love for us is beyond our understanding.

1 Timothy 3:16 says, And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

1 John 4:14 says And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. Jude :25 says To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever. Amen.

He called Abraham his friend (Isaiah 41:8, James 2:23). He spoke to Moses as a man speaks to a friend (Exodus 33:11). He told the disciples in John 15:9-16 they were His friends because He shared with them the knowledge of His Father. He truly is our friend. He alone is the One we can trust. The One who died for us on the cross will help us in our time of need. He will wrap us in His love. We must ask Him to come into our heart. We can tell Him how much we love Him. After we do this we will be in awe of His love, peace and comfort. He is our saviour and friend. How awesome He is!

Chapter Two
God’s Favor

Webster’s Dictionary defines the word favor as: friendly regard; approving consideration or attention, partiality; assistance; endow; to do a kindness; to give support.

Favor from God is truly all the above descriptions. He constantly turns adversity into favor. His favor is what gets us through the challenges in life. He fights our battles and proves His favor constantly throughout each and every day. Living day to day in God’s favor continually lifts us through the rough times.

The fact that Satan tries to defeat us at every turn in life is proof of God’s divine intervention called favor. We may not have earthly riches but we can be loaded down with heavenly favor. When anything goes wrong in our life we need to take it to our Friend in heaven. We give it to Him and it is sent back with resolution. He knows when He has our heart He has our dedication and service. Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you (John 15:16). Philippians 2:13 says For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Recently the reality of God’s favor came to my understanding. When I speak favor over my problems, I receive his goodness every time. I have to think positive and declare His favor or Satan will get a foothold. I give my problems to Him and quit worrying over that which I have no control.

Satan creates many obstacles in my path. He tries to keep me so busy I don’t have time for my passion - this ministry. Just when I think I will never get back to my writing a door opens and what I discover is unending favor. I know His favor is on me because I do His bidding and He leads my every step.

The old testament tells story after story of God saving the lives of His chosen people. Time after time the Bible talks about Israel as being favored and God fighting for them (Psalm 44:3, Exodus 14:14). It is the same today for people who love God. We are in His favor with deep faith, knowledge of His Word and constant prayer and communication. We should be proud to be called His servant and share the gospel with anyone who wants knowledge. Job 10:12 says Thou hast granted me life and favour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit.

Mary found favor with God. That is why she was given the unique gift of being the mother of Jesus (Luke 1:30). Mary must have been very close to God for such a favor to have been bestowed on her life. What a wonderful privilege to raise the Son of God and watch prophecy unfold during your life.

Psalm 5:12 says For thou, LORD, wilt bless the righteous; with favour wilt thou compass him as with a shield. Psalm 30:5 says For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning. By this I know that thou favourest me, because mine enemy doth not triumph over me (Psalm 41:11). Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard (Proverbs 13:15). Fools make a mock at sin: but among the righteous there is favour (Proverbs 14:9).

And he said, LORD God of Israel, there is no God like thee, in heaven above, or on earth beneath, who keepest covenant and mercy with thy servants that walk before thee with all their heart: (1 Kings 8:23). 1 Peter 1:13 says Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

How can we know He has granted us favor? When we have problems, large or small, He takes care of them. Once you start completely trusting Him and giving Him the problem and quit worrying about it, He will resolve the problem. Next time a problem comes up that takes your mind away from everything you care about ask Him to take over and give you peace. You will find peace and have His joy in your heart. 2 Chronicles 20:15 says the battle is the Lord’s. Give Him the problem and He will have it resolved before you know what happened. God’s favor is so intense you will not question the end result.

Chapter Three
The Red Cord

The first thing Rahab said to the spies was, where have you been for forty years? In Joshua 2 she told the spies the people were afraid of them and they would have fled leaving behind all their possessions if Israel had invaded Jericho years ago. Rahab, the harlot, protected the spies and kept them safe by covering them with stalks of flax on her roof. She allowed the spies from the camp of Israel to stay in her house because they needed a shelter of safety. Then she let them down by a cord through the window: for her house was upon the town wall, and she dwelt upon the wall (Joshua 2:15). Rahab saved the spies lives when the guards came looking for them at her house.

When Jericho fell, her life and the lives of everyone in her father’s family were spared. The only condition for her was to drop the red cord out the window (Joshua 2:18). God saved everyone who was in her house. This story is priceless because no matter what is going on in our life Jesus always throws out a life line to get us out of whatever mess we have created. James 2:25 says Rahab was justified when she sent the messengers to safety. This act transformed her life. She and those with her were saved. When Jesus comes into our life, our sins are washed away never again remembered (Jeremiah 31:34).

Psalm 116:13 says I will take the cup of salvation, and call upon the name of the LORD. Luke 22:20 says Likewise also the cup after supper, saying, This cup is the new testament in my blood, which is shed for you. Isaiah 1:18 says Come now, and let us reason together, saith the LORD: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. Hebrews 9:22 says without shedding blood there is no remission of sin.

The Passion of the Christ is a movie that shocked the Christian community because of the graphic reality of the torturous death he experienced. It gives an understanding of the brutality of the crucifixion. He felt the whip, the beatings, the thorns puncturing holes in his scalp, the torture of the nails being driven through his hands and feet, the cross being carelessly dropped into the hole in the ground and hanging on the cross with absolutely no body support. He felt the pain just as we would but the divinity mixed with humanity is what kept Him alive through the ordeal. Humans would have died during the relentless whipping tearing skin off the body. The blood of Christ on that day so long ago is what keeps us alive now and through eternity. His blood was shed as a ransom for us. His shed blood forgives our sins and keeps evil from taking over the world. His broken body heals our diseases, sets us free from our burdens and gives us hope for our future. Because of the cross evil will one day soon be eradicated.

The color red always reminds me of a crackling, snapping fire in the fireplace. Logs ablaze look like prisms with colors of the rainbow dancing on every flame. The heat of the fire sends out a warmth that reaches to the very depths of our reasoning. God’s powerful influence is witnessed even in the small flames burning in the fireplace.

Have you watched the sun setting over the ocean? When our family takes a trip to the ocean, the main event of the day is watching the sun set over the water in the brilliant, colorful hues of the rainbow. The sky and water become a canvas of beautiful blends of color from God. These breath-taking hues of the color spectrum leave you entranced. The gorgeous, bright colors soon disappear and the night shades come with peaceful soft colors turning into a black sky full of twinkling, colorful stars. Every sunset is a description of God’s love.

Every home should have an attic. All the grandchildren loved to play in Grandma’s attic. It was a wonderful, peaceful, happy, imaginative environment. There were old trunks full of memories waiting to be explored. Old toy trucks were lined up by the wall. We selected our mode of transportation then gathered up the treasures we selected for our play. Games were stacked neatly on a shelf for our quiet time. We had books to read from the little library. Men’s and women’s clothing hung on a bar. Pairs of shoes were neatly arranged in a row on the floor underneath the clothes bar. An old vanity was the keeper of the hair brushes, combs, hair nets, snoods, lip stick, empty powder containers, clip on earrings, necklaces and scarves. The imagination ran wild in that old attic. It is one of the happiest memories of the my childhood. Those special moments in the attic always sent a soothing warmth flowing through my soul. Such a wonderful place to be with no anxiety. Just peace and joy. I think of heaven being a peaceful, happy, joyful place where I want to be all the time. Many happy hours were spent in grandma’s attic giving each grandchild a special memory of the world of imagination and wonderment. Even in the attic you discover the powerful influence of God.

I’m sure the spies Rahab protected were very thankful for the warm reception they received upon their arrival. God wants us to trust Him knowing He will be our protector and provider.

The blood of Jesus Christ is our red cord to heaven’s safety. Grab on and never let go of Him. He is our only hope. He is our salvation.

Chapter Four
The Blue Veil Is Lifted

When the tabernacle was built, God told them to make a blue vail (OT spelling) to hang in front of the Most Holy place. And thou shalt make a vail of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen of cunning work: with cherubims shall it be made: (Exodus 26:31). And he made an hanging for the tabernacle door of blue, and purple, and scarlet, and fine twined linen, of needlework; (Exodus 36:37). They sewed a beautiful blue vail and hung it in front of the ark of covenant. They made a vail for entry into the first section of the tabernacle and a vail for the entry into the Holiest of Holies where they kept the ark of covenant (Hebrews 9:3-4).

When Jesus died on the cross, the veil (NT spelling) in the temple was torn from top to bottom. And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent; (Matthew 27:51). And the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom (Mark 15:38). And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst (Luke 23:45).

When Jesus died on the cross, the world had a new system of worship. No longer did they need to sacrifice animals for purging sin. Christ became the final sacrifice giving heaven and earth a Saviour. By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; (Hebrews 10:20). Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil; (Hebrews 6:19). For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true; but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us: (Hebrews 9:24). Jesus Christ is the veil we enter into for the salvation of our soul.

Man no longer has the veil in front of the most holy place in the temple. Now the veil has been lifted up to heaven. When we look up to heaven we have a blue veil between heaven and earth. The beautiful blue sky is a visual reminder of the blue veil that came between man and God in the old testament. One day soon the sky will be parted and He will call us to meet Him in the clouds. Jesus is the priest and mediator in our life. We are nothing without Him and will never see Him if we don’t follow and trust Him completely. Look up and talk to Him through the blue veil. He is waiting eagerly and patiently to hear your voice.

Chapter Five
Earth’s Final Call

My heart yearns to do more to help people understand what is about to come. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me (Revelation 3:20). I pray daily for Jesus to get those riding the fence to go to Him committing their lives to Him. I call them fence riders because they claim they believe there is a God but won’t commit their life to Him. They say it takes too much time for something they can’t see. They say if there is a God why is the world having so many problems. We know there will always be problems on earth because of sin. Life on earth will never be perfect until after the millennial reign of Jesus when He recreates heaven and earth eradicating evil (Revelation 21, 22). If only people could realize what they are missing by not following Jesus.

James 1:13 says God does not tempt man with evil. The Bible says there will always be trials and temptations in life because there is evil in the world. In other words it isn’t going to be a perfect world until after His millennial kingdom reign here on earth when everything is made new and evil is eradicated. I’m sure it will take many years to convince man to trust, believe, hope and realize they don’t need anyone but Jesus. We have to be willing to confront the problems life deals out to us and defeat evil or we will be miserable. We have to trust God to make everything work according to His plan for the end time events to take place on His time schedule.

Current events in the world tell us time is at a close. There is no more time to procrastinate giving your heart to God. God wants everyone to completely trust Him. Hebrews 11:6 says God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek and find Him. Verse 13 tells us we are strangers on earth. Earth isn’t our home, heaven is our home. We will soon live forever with our Lord and Saviour. Have you ever wondered about the restlessness that brews up inside the body when the mind can’t concentrate on anything? We have that feeling like something just isn’t quite right. When Jesus is the focal point in everything accomplished an inner joy dwells in the heart. There is an element missing by not having Jesus number one over everything in our life. Everything else is simply secondary. The blood of Jesus Christ has purged sin. All we have to do is accept Him as our personal Saviour. 1 Peter 2:24 says Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed. John 3:1-8 says we have to be born again. We have to be born of water and of the Spirit. This means we must give our heart to Jesus Christ and be His child. To be baptized, we must be immersed in water (John 3:3-5). Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into his death? Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life (Romans 6:3-4). When John baptized Jesus, He was coming up out of the water when the Spirit of God descended on Him in the form of a dove (Matthew 3:16). We will feel the tangible power of God come upon us when we accept His final call.

Revelation 20:15 says And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Are you going to listen to His final call? He is knocking on the door of your heart, please let Him come in to comfort, teach, guide and bless you with His love.

When God speaks in an audible voice, we listen so our life will be changed. No second chances. No begging or pleading. We simply change and listen for instruction. Humility is an honorable asset to our Saviour. Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering; Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness. And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful (Colossians 3:12-15).

Psalm 23:3 says He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalm 25:4-5 says Shew me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths. Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day. Verse 10 says All the paths of the LORD are mercy and truth unto such as keep his covenant and his testimonies. Verse 11 says For thy name’s sake, O LORD, pardon mine iniquity; for it is great. Hebrews 3:8 says we are not to harden our hearts toward God. 2 Corinthians 6:2 says now is the time to make our decision to accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour. We all have a chance to carry the torch of evangelism. When we find the love of Jesus we will be rewarded (John 4:10-14, Revelation 21:6). It is worth our every effort to find the water of eternal life (John 4:14). Christ wants us to live lives of selflessness giving our lives to Him (2 Corinthians 5:15, Luke 9:23).

1 Thessalonians 2:12 says That ye would walk worthy of God, who hath called you unto his kingdom and glory. We have to be willing, humble, excited and eager to learn so we will be able to hear His final call on our heart.

Chapter Six
Prophecy Realized

But, The LORD liveth, that brought up the children of Israel from the land of the north, and from all the lands whither he had driven them: and I will bring them again into their land that I gave unto their fathers (Jeremiah 16:15). The Jews received their own land in 1948 as their own nation just as God promised. The people are returning to the land of Israel from all over the world. The rains have returned to the land causing the desert to blossom.

The country to keep an eye on right now is Israel because specific prophecies have to be fulfilled through this nation. These things are predicted in the Bible to happen just before the Great Tribulation hour comes upon the earth. I am sad when I hear the daily reports of terrorism against Israel but I know He is not going to let anything happen to His people or His land. Isaiah 54:7 says For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. Verse 14 says In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee. Verse 17 says No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of me, saith the LORD. Jeremiah 30:7 says Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

We see prophecy being fulfilled in the middle east with all the turmoil. The terrorist activities are against countries Bin Laden wants to control. The fight is for wealth that comes from oil. Their goal is to control as many governments as possible through owning the oil.

Israel is not going to find peace and safety until they seek God with His infinite wisdom to lead them through the turmoil. Isaiah 66:22 says Israel’s seed and name is forever. They will have some very difficult times ahead but Israel will not be destroyed. When they start listening to God their enemies will be afraid of them. There are many difficulties for Israel at this present time but they will soon turn to God and find resolution with peace and safety. God will protect them from the evil world wanting to destroy them.

I constantly pray for those who are suffering from the calamities that are devastating many parts of the globe. When I keep my focus on defining the current events of the world it makes my heart sing and praise my Friend for what is about to happen. He is about to call everyone following Him to meet Him in the clouds. The seven years of terror will be the destiny of those not wanting anything to do with Him. God will get their attention when they are witnessing first hand the reign of terror on the earth. They will come on bended knee to Him wanting to be His child or they will curse Him and follow Satan.

Russia and China have recently announced an alliance between their two countries where they will be sharing military secrets and power. They are combining in hopes of having an enormous military making them powerful and frightening to the world. They conducted military tests with nuclear weapons in December 2004.

Prophecy is realized through His mighty power in the earthquakes, thunderstorms, hurricanes, tornados, floods, terrorist activities, ethnic cleansing, famines, wars and diseases.

The Indian Ocean disaster on December 26, 2004 tells us end time events are very close. This earthquake was so intense it moved a large island from its location to a new location. There were some small islands missing. Revelation speaks of the mountains and islands being removed from their places vanishing before our eyes (Revelation 6:14, 16:20). The Indian ocean quake only gives us a glimpse of what will happen during the Great Tribulation Hour. We need to heed the warnings.

This quake was so strong it caused the earth to tilt on its axis. The earth wobbled two and one half (2 ½) centimeters causing the day to be shorter by three millionths of a second (NOVA - Wave That Shook The World - Tsunami). The day the earthquake happened, 12-26-04 the day after Christmas, the sun set earlier causing the international clock to have to be reset to make up the time difference. Jeremiah 25:32 says Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Behold, evil shall go forth from nation to nation, and a great whirlwind shall be raised up from the coasts of the earth.

It was reported this area was very corrupt and abusive to children. Children are marketed as sex slaves everyday to the people vacationing in the areas hit by the destruction. Ricky Martin, singer and composer, appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show that aired on July 7, 2005. He stated the area is extremely corrupt. Children were stolen by sex slave masters before parents could find them during the aftermath of the Tsunami. People come in everyday to have sex with these innocent children. Martin stated a man paid to have sex with a five month old baby. Martin says he will do everything he can to help get this problem eradicated. It is a problem happening all over the world says Martin.

A second earthquake hit this same area on March 28, 2005, the day after Easter. I find it very interesting these earthquakes were the day after the day we celebrate His birth and resurrection. Matthew 18:6 says But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea. This tells us the judgement is going to be very harsh for those who destroy the lives of God’s little children.

Those in prominent positions leading our country want to take God out of the equation. This country was founded on Christianity and that is why God has guided her through many years. We have become very corrupt not following God’s rules. Now our voice needs to be raised up in prayer to God asking for His guidance. We need to pray for this country. We have embraced ideas that do not represent God’s way of life.

Prophecy is being fulfilled day by day. We need to realize the door of heaven is starting to open. We will witness events that make us very sad but at the same time we know time is coming to a close and that is exciting.

Chapter Seven
The Meeting In The Clouds

The meeting is the clouds is very difficult to understand. I am convinced that a phenomenal event will happen regarding the removal of God’s people. There are many texts explaining those who love and believe in Him are not going to go through the Great Tribulation. Because of His shed blood we will not have to go through the Great Tribulation. We will be standing before Jesus if we are found worthy instead of going through the Great Tribulation. As you study this chapter please focus on the texts because they promise unconditionally we are going somewhere safe and away from the judgements because we believe in Jesus. He says He will hide us in our rooms until the indignation is finished. He says we will be gathered from earth to heaven.

You will not find the word rapture in the Bible. We use words such as demons, millennial reign and trinity that are not found in the Bible. We use these words because they are the Greek or Hebrew interpretations. The original new testament was written in Greek and Hebrew. When we learn the Greek and Hebrew translations of the English words, we understand the Bible passages with more clarity. We need to understand the Greek and Hebrew definitions for the same word. The Hebrew and Greek alphabets are worth studying and learning the definition and gematria of each letter. Understanding comes from knowledge and knowledge comes from study. My prayer is for this study to help you understand the difference between the meeting in the clouds and the coming on the white horse described in the Bible.

The Bible specifically talks about two very different events which are the meeting in the clouds (Matthew 24:20-31, Mark 13:26-27, 1 Thessalonians 4:17) and the coming on the white horse then setting His feet on the Mount of Olives causing it to split (Zechariah 14:4, Revelation 19).

My search began ten years ago on these two separate subjects and I still believe what God showed me in His Holy Word. When I first started studying, I realized the Bible vividly describes two different events regarding this subject. The Bible clearly states the differences between the meeting in the clouds and the coming on the white horse with the armies of heaven. There is a time gap between them because the people who love Jesus will be in heaven while the others are left on earth to experience the judgements from God. There are many verses explaining that we who love Him won’t go through the wrath.

There will be nothing secret about this event. Millions of people will be suddenly missing. The earth will instantly be thrown into chaos. Traffic accidents will stop the smooth flow of vehicles on the freeways and streets. People involved with all modes of transportation, hospitals, schools and many more institutions will have people missing which will cause devastation with the ordinary routine of daily life at that moment. God is going to let the evil people and demons attempt to rule the earth.

We need to thank Jesus daily for saving us from this impending wrath. The church will be gone during this time period. The 144,000 Jewish Evangelists will preach God’s message to the Jews and the world. We will be safely in His care in Heaven during the Great Tribulation. Evil is going to find out just how horrible and confusing everything is going to be when the Holy Spirit is removed from the earth.

Genesis 7-8 tells the story of Noah and how he was saved from the flood. Genesis 19 tells the story of Lot and how he was removed from the destruction of his city. Exodus 1- 40 tells the story of Israel escaping from the Egyptians. Daniel 3 tells the story of how Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were saved from certain death in the fiery furnace. The story of Job is a positive message to each and everyone of God’s people. Jonah 1-2 tells the story of Jonah and how God saved him.

In Genesis 18 Abraham asked God if he would save Sodom and Gomorrah if only ten good people were dwelling in the city. God said He would not destroy it if only ten good people were living in the city. Abraham must have hoped all of Lot’s family would leave the city but only four fled when the angels came to take them out of the city. The sons-in-law thought Lot was mocking them when he told them of the impending judgement. They were told to flee to Zoar. When they reached the city of Zoar, God rained fire upon Sodom and Gomorrah. The judgements didn’t start until they safely reached their destination. The angels told Lot and his family to hurry because the city was soon to be destroyed and nothing could happen until they were out of the city. 2 Thessalonians 2:7-8 says the Wicked one will be revealed only after we are taken out of the way. The Holy Spirit keeps evil from taking over the world. The Holy Spirit lives in each of us (1 Thessalonians 4:8). When the Holy Spirit is taken out of the way so evil can take over, those who love Him will be gone because the Holy Spirit lives in those who love Him.

2 Thessalonians 2:3-4 explains the man of sin, the son of perdition, will be revealed and exalt himself above all others showing himself to be God. This makes it very clear verses 7 and 8 are describing the Antichrist.

God has kept evil from ruling the world until He is ready to remove the Holy Spirit from the earth. The Holy Spirit dwells in each of us who have accepted Jesus as our Saviour (1 Corinthians 3:16). Jesus said He would never leave us or forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). When the Holy Spirit leaves the earth when the judgements begin, we (the church) will also be gone. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-18 says For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

The church represents everyone who has given their heart to Jesus. Jesus loves the church and has said He will take care of her. Isaiah 54:5 says For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. Jeremiah 3:14 says Turn, O backsliding children, saith the LORD; for I am married unto you: and I will take you one of a city, and two of a family, and I will bring you to Zion.... Hosea 2:19-23 says And I will betroth thee unto me for ever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the LORD. And it shall come to pass in that day, I will hear, saith the LORD, I will hear the heavens, and they shall hear the earth; And the earth shall hear the corn, and the wine, and the oil; and they shall hear Jezreel. And I will sow her unto me in the earth; and I will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy; and I will say to them which were not my people, Thou art my people; and they shall say, Thou art my God. Revelation 19:7 says Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come, and his wife hath made herself ready. These verses are speaking about the church. Those who love him and are ready and waiting for Him will be His bride.

Ephesians 5:25 says Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. What an awesome promise. Jesus is coming soon and He will take all who love Him to safety to be with Him. Just as He took Enoch and Elijah so will He take us to be with Him (Genesis 5:18-24, 2 Kings 2:11).

The parable of the ten virgins tells us only five of the ten were waiting when the bridegroom came for those who were ready to go into the house (Matthew 25:1-13). The door was closed and did not reopen for anyone. They were told, “I know you not” (Matthew 25:12). The door of Noah’s ark was shut by the Lord and no one else was able to get on board the ship (Genesis 7:16). It will be the same for those at the time of the rapture who are doubting God’s Holy Word and have not accepted Him as their Saviour. The door of heaven will close after the meeting in the clouds.

Luke 21:33-36 tells us not to let this day come as a surprise because we aren’t paying attention. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man (Luke 21:36). Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him (Romans 5:9). For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him (1 Thessalonians 5:9-10).

Luke 12:40 says Be ye therefore ready also: for the Son of man cometh at an hour when ye think not. Verse 37 says we will sit down to a spiritual feast if we are among those who are watching and studying. We should not be ignorant regarding this subject. Christians who are studying the Bible know what events to look for prior to the rapture. The Bible plainly speaks about knowledge of the written Word guiding us in knowing the signs so we can be watching and observing the world around us with intelligence. Current events are certainly fulfilling the prophecies we are to be watching for in the world. The meeting in the clouds is not going to be a surprise to anyone who knows what the Bible teaches regarding end time events.

The Bible states we will have daily trials and tribulations which are the incidents that happen to everyone on a daily basis. The Bible specifically talks about the Great Tribulation as God’s wrath coming to the whole world. It will be horrendous, something the world has never witnessed before and will never see again (Matthew 24:21). It is described as a series of events during a seven year period of time. It is going to be the last chance for those who refuse to believe in God to give their heart to Him. Revelation explains in detail the massive numbers of everyone on earth who will die during this time. Close to fifty (50) percent of the earth’s population will die during these judgements. People will beg to die but God doesn’t allow the easy way out of these judgements (Revelation 9:6).

Acts 1:9-11 says He will come the same way the disciples saw Him go into heaven. John 14:1-3 tells us vividly Jesus is preparing a place for us in heaven. He says where His Father dwells are many mansions. He went back to heaven to prepare homes for us. How do we know? John 14:1-3 describes the mansions He has prepared for us and the best part of the verse says if He has prepared mansions for us He will come to get us then take us to His dwelling place so we can be with Him. He is not going to build mansions that we will never inhabit. He is going to build houses for us and take us to where He dwells. He wants us to believe and know what He says will happen. He wants us to live with Him in heaven. These three verses tell us He will not meet us in the clouds then immediately come back to earth. We are going to where He lives and will inhabit the mansions He has built for us.

We will be in heaven for the seven years during the Great Tribulation judgements on earth. Revelation 19:1-9 talks about the marriage supper of the lamb in heaven. This will take place in heaven. Psalm 90:10 says The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away. Those who have died prior to the rapture are with Him. They will come to earth to receive their new bodies. The saints along with those who went to heaven after they died will meet Him together in the air. The meeting in the air saints and the Great Tribulation saints (Revelation 7:14) will be present at the marriage supper. Then He returns on the white horse with the armies of heaven to save Israel.

We don’t go up to meet Him in the clouds then bop back to earth. We go to heaven as He promised and will dwell in the homes waiting for us to inhabit. When He returns to earth on the white horse to end the battle of Armegeddon, the armies of heaven will accompany Him in the clouds of heaven. Jude :14 says And Enoch also, the seventh from Adam, prophesied of these, saying, Behold, the Lord cometh with ten thousands of his saints. Then the millennial reign begins on earth.

And they sung a new song, saying, Thou art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for thou wast slain, and hast redeemed us to God by thy blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation: And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth (Revelation 5:9). After this I beheld, and, lo, a great multitude, which no man could number, of all nations, and kindreds, and people, and tongues, stood before the throne, and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, and palms in their hands; And cried with a loud voice, saying, Salvation to our God which sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb (Revelation 7:9-10). Verse 11 says there were many angels around the throne. Revelation 5:9 is talking about the raptured saints. Revelation 7:9-10 is talking about people from various nations around the world who were martyrs from the Great Tribulation.

1 Corinthians 15:51-57 explains there will be Christians alive when the meeting in the clouds takes place. In the twinkling of an eye we will be changed into our incorruptible bodies (1 Corinthians 15:51-52). 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18 says if we believe Jesus died and rose we should also believe that those who die in Jesus will come back with Him to get their new bodies. Those who are alive at this time will be caught up together with them to meet Him in the clouds

Why would He make us go through the Great Tribulation just because we are the remaining Christians alive at this time period? He won’t! There are many text explaining those who died before us who loved Him are with Him. Psalm 90:10 says when our life is cut off we fly away. 2 Corinthians 5:6-8 says by faith we believe if we are absent from the body we are with the Lord but if we are absent from the Lord we are at home in the body. He is going to take care of us and keep us safe. The old body is corrupt and stays in the grave at death. The spirit returns to God who gave it to us.

Revelation 7:17 says He is giving them perfection. That won’t happen for earth’s inhabitants until after the millennial reign. In chapter 19 He comes on the white horse ending the Great Tribulation. The beast and false prophet are cast into the lake of fire. In chapter 20 the angel takes Satan and binds him and casts him into the bottomless pit for one thousand years.

The word rapture comes from the Greek word “harpadso” meaning “snatched up”. The English word is “caught up” in our Bibles. When the NT was translated from Greek to Latin the word rapio was used for “caught up”.

“Out of” is the Greek word Ek meaning “out of”. We will be praising, worshiping, learning, talking to Him and thanking Him for all He has done for us.

I have put in these definitions from the dictionary to help give a more clear understanding of the words you will find in the Bible verses following this section.

While studying I found understandable and very powerful texts saying we weren’t meant for wrath. Following are several verses defining the wrath we will not experience because we will be with Jesus. Remember, the seven churches in Revelation 2 and 3 is a message for all churches through the ages of time.

Psalm 17:8 Keep me as the apple of the eye, hide me under the shadow of thy wings, From the wicked that oppress me, from my deadly enemies, who compass me about.

Psalm 27:5 For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.

Psalm 50:4-5 He shall call to the heavens from above, and to the earth, that he may judge his people. Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.

Isaiah 26:20-21 Come, my people, enter thou into thy chambers, and shut thy doors about thee: hide thyself as it were for a little moment, until the indignation be overpast. For, behold, the LORD cometh out of his place to punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

Isaiah 57:1 The righteous perisheth, and no man layeth it to heart: and merciful men are taken away, none considering that the righteous is taken away from the evil to come.

Jeremiah 6:29 The bellows are burned, the lead is consumed of the fire; the founder melteth in vain: for the wicked are not plucked away.

Jeremiah 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.

Daniel 12:1 And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book.

Micah 7:2 The good man is perished out of the earth: and there is non upright among men: they all lie in wait for blood; they hunt every man his brother with a net. Hebrew for perish: to cause to disappear.

Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.

Luke 21:36 Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.

Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

Ephesians 1:10 That is the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him.

Colossians 1:12-13 Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son:

1 Thessalonians 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

1 Thessalonians 5:9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ.

2 Thessalonians 2:7 For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.

Revelation 3:10 Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Revelation 4:1 After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter.

John was translated into the presence of God. He saw the throne in heaven surrounded by beautiful emerald rainbows. He saw the twenty-four seats around the throne. These seats had men sitting in them who wore white clothes and had gold crowns. Angels are not going to have crowns, only humans will be given crowns for rewards (Revelation 4:10). In chapter five John says he cried because no man in heaven, earth or beneath the earth was found worthy to open the scroll. Jesus, the Lamb, is called upon to open the scroll with the seven seals. The judgements on earth begin when the first seal is broken.

We will be with Jesus in heaven, safe from the Great Tribulation judgements commencing on earth. The meeting in the clouds is for those who love and declare Him to be their God. He is the one who is saving us from the wrath of His judgements. Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth (Revelation 3:10).

The Bible tells us there were scoffers in Noah’s day telling him there wouldn’t be a flood. They didn’t want to believe water would cover the face of the earth. They had never seen such a thing and therefore scoffed at the idea. We have the same spirit today saying there won’t be a rapture. We have the written Word to guide us in our studies of Biblical topics. There is no excuse anyone can give that God will accept. We need to study and learn what is in the pages of God’s Book. Study for yourself. Don’t listen to scoffers. Knowing this first, that there shall come in the last days scoffers, walking after their own lusts, And saying, Where is the promise of his coming? for since the fathers fell asleep, all things continue as they were from the beginning of the creation (2 Peter 3:3-4).

Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work (2 Thessalonians 2:16-17). We know the difference in these two comings described in the Bible. Let us be ready when we hear the call to meet Him in the clouds.

Chapter Eight
Week 70

The seventieth week in Daniel’s prophecies has not yet been fulfilled. The seventieth week is called the Great Tribulation. The seventieth week is knocking on the door of the world. People need to understand the world isn’t going to get better until Jesus returns on the white horse and begins his millennial reign ending week 70 (Revelation 19, 20).

We are nearing week 70. We need to understand what is going to take place during this time period. The Great Tribulation has a purpose. The rapture of the saints will be the sign letting us know it is time for the Great Tribulation to begin. Listed below are reasons for this time in history.

The Great Tribulation:

- fulfills prophecies about Israel

- forces man to lose his false sense of security

- forces man to choose between Jesus and Satan

- brings the culmination of world events so we can reach the goal of Revelation 21 and 22

- ends God’s time table

Jeremiah 30:7 says Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it. Daniel 12:1 says And at that time shall Michael stand up, the great prince which standeth for the children of thy people: and there shall be a time of trouble, such as never was since there was a nation even to that same time: and at that time thy people shall be delivered, every one that shall be found written in the book. Matthew 24:21 says For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Daniel’s prophecies follow the 360 day Chaldean lunar-solar year with four distinct seasons, twelve months in the year with 30 days in each month. Revelation 12:6 says And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days. This will be during the last half of the Great Tribulation. This totals 1260 days. One week equals seven years in these prophecies. Revelation 12:14 says And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent. This is describing two three-and-one-half year periods of time, or two forty-two month time periods (Revelation 12:6, 13:5).

Jeremiah 25:11 says And this whole land shall be a desolation, and an astonishment; and these nations shall serve the king of Babylon seventy years. Daniel asked God to show him what would happen to Israel after the end of their seventy year Babylonian captivity. The year was 538 B.C. when God revealed to Daniel that Israel would reject their promised Messiah and be scattered throughout the regions around them. God also revealed to Daniel that an evil leader would take Israel’s side in the last days. Daniel’s prophecy begins with the restoration of Jerusalem. King Artaxerxes of Persia issued the command to rebuild Jerusalem in 445 B.C.

Daniel 9:25 says Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince, shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times. This totals 69 weeks (69 sevens or 483 years). Daniel started the dates at the time of the decree to rebuild Jerusalem at the time of his vision from God. Verse 26 says And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined. Jesus entered Jerusalem on the back of the donkey as King but Israel rejected Him as their Messiah and put Him to death a few days later. He was cut off from the earth and ascended to heaven.

The crucifixion fulfilled the sixty ninth week leaving only one week (seven years) left for Israel to have a leader that will deceive the people into thinking he will stand up for her. The seventieth week (490 years) will be fulfilled when the Antichrist signs a seven year peace agreement with Israel. This begins the seven years of sheer terror on earth.

People thrive on movies and video games with the violent content of war and killing. During the Great Tribulation they will be able to live their disgusting fantasies. There will be extremely strange phenomenon happening during this time period that will frighten the most violent of people. This is all found in Revelation. Daniel 9:27 says And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate. Revelation 13:5 says And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

Some say this all happened in 70 A.D. The seventieth week has not happened yet because most of the prophecies regarding this time period have not yet taken place in our history. Following are the reasons why this is yet to come.

- Israel was not a nation until 1948

- The Revelation judgements have not taken place

- The world has not been divided into ten kingdoms

- A one world government has never been empowered

- Past or present has not provided a one world leader

- The temple has not been rebuilt

- Two witnesses have not been in Jerusalem preaching

- Millions of people have not been missing (raptured)

This is the only time in history the prophecy of the Great Tribulation could be fulfilled. God kept telling Israel He would make them a great nation if they listened to Him. Their refusal to follow God kept them from becoming the greatest nation on earth (Genesis 46:3, Exodus 32:10). Israel wasn’t a nation until 1948. The Jewish people have been returning to Israel during the last century and are returning to Israel at this present time from being scattered in the different countries mentioned in prophecy (Ezekiel 36:24, 37:14). Also, the temple hasn’t been rebuilt yet. It will be rebuilt at a time when serious problems are facing Israel (Daniel 9:25). The prophecies say it will happen in the last days. Ezekiel 36 and 37 describe this in great detail. This seventieth week will be seven years of terror the earth has never imagined or experienced in its previous history.

Combine every previous war, natural disaster, terrorist act, nations losing monetary value (such as the great depression or the acting head of government escaping with all the wealth to another country), ethnic cleansing and whatever comes to mind. The Great Tribulation will be much worse than this small list could propose. Satan is going to be so angry he won’t care what problems he adds to the list of terrors. Man will be extremely violent. People will not be able to trust each other, there will be wars involving every nation, the blood shed will be enormous, there will be severe judgements from God. Zechariah 14: 12-13 says there will be blood shed. Neighbor will fight neighbor. Anyone against Israel and Jerusalem will be killed. People will beg to die but won’t be able to. Revelation 9:6 says And in those days shall men seek death, and shall not find it; and shall desire to die, and death shall flee from them.

Because of all the destruction from the Great Tribulation judgements, the earth will look completely different than we know it today. There will be no vegetation because the two witnesses will stop the rain meaning there will be no food for man or animal causing massive death tolls. The oceans and rivers will be so polluted nothing will be alive in them (Revelation 16:3-4). Many of the river beds will be dry. The earthquakes will destroy bridges and roadways, and buildings leaving people homeless and the earth destitute (Revelation 16:18). Disease will be spread throughout the world (Revelation 16:2). The prophecy of hail is called “exceeding great” with each hail stone weighing a talent (Revelation 16:21). A talent by Troy measurement weighs 125 pounds. The sun is going to be so hot it will destroy whatever and whoever wasn’t previously dead (Revelation 16:8-9). Mountains will be gone and islands will be moved from their original location by powerful earthquakes (Revelation 16:20). The earth will go through a period of darkness which may last three or four months (Revelation 16:10). Revelation 8:8 talks about a great burning mountain on fire being hurled to the earth. This is probably a meteor or comet that will cause great devastation to the earth and oceans.

The Great Tribulation is for those who don’t believe in Jesus. Those who worship the beast and have his mark are going to be afflicted with horrible sores on their body. Revelation 20:4 says And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years. Verse 5 says But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. It is going to be a terrible time for those who are alive.

Revelation 1, 2, and 3 talk about the churches past, present and future throughout history. They are not mentioned again in Revelation until chapter 19:14. The rest of Revelation is talking about Israel and the non-believers in the world.

The appearance of Jesus Christ on the white horse coming will save Israel and the world from Satan (Revelation 19). Revelation 20:1-3 tells us an angel is going to throw Satan in the bottomless pit where he will stay for one-thousand years. A seal is going to be set on the pit. He will no longer be able to deceive the nations, or people, during the millennial reign. He will be bound in a great chain and locked away for one-thousand years. At the end of one-thousand years, he will be let out of his prison for a short time. There he can’t influence anyone to commit evil acts.

After the 1000 years he is loosed for a little while for one last battle. The dead who are evil people will be raised at the end of the one thousand years. Satan will assemble them together for one last battle against Jesus. The Bible says they will make a circle around the beloved city (Jerusalem) to overtake and conquer it. At this time God sends fire from heaven and they are destroyed. Then Satan is cast into the lake of fire. The great white throne judgement begins. Chapter 21 begins with a new heaven and earth with Christ making all things pure and new for our new beginning. The Holy City comes down from heaven to dwell with Jesus and man. Chapter 22 describes our awesome new environment.

My prayer is for everyone to realize how wonderful God’s love is for us. We can’t begin to understand Him until we are in heaven learning about Him. That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God (Ephesians 3:16-19).

Death, sadness, tears, sickness, hunger, hatred, evil and Satan were conquered when He died on the cross. When morning came the stone was rolled away and He arose from the tomb. We have hope, we have strength, we have power, we have eternal life because He loved us enough to eradicate evil once and for all. It all will soon take place. Trust Him, love Him, hold Him in your heart and never let go and you will have unending peace. May Jesus be the center of your every moment, every day.

The door of heaven has begun to open. Pray that you will be worthy to be taken to escape the horrors on earth. We want to be with Jesus in heaven.
